Under the umbrella of the Water Sustainability Action Plan for British Columbia, three companion websites have been developed to complement this website.
Convening for Action in British Columbia: a provincial initiative to advance a water balance way-of-thinking and acting
Through outreach and education, the shared vision is to influence land and water practitioners to learn about and use practices that better balance the necessary relationships of settlement activity and ecological assets in local and regional landscapes. “Convening for Action is our mantra. When we gather, it is for a purpose. There must be an action item or an outcome. Our aim is to move from talk to action by developing tools, building capacity, and providing training,” stated Ray Fung.
Green Infrastructure in British Columbia: “design with nature” to achieve sustainable development outcomes
The Green Infrastructure Partnership and the waterbucket,ca Website Partnership collaborated to develop the Green Infrastructure Community-of-Interest in 2005. According to Paul Ham, “The vision for the website is to promote practitioner understsanding and build lesdership capacity through the sharing of experiences, approaches and lessons learned by BC practitioners in implementing green infrastructure policies and practices that advance the state-of-the-practice in ‘designing with nature’.”
The Inter-Governmental Partnership responsible for the Water Balance Model powered by QUALHYMO collaborated with the Waterbucket Website Partnership in 2005 to develop the Rainwater Management Community-of-Interest as a companion website. According to Kim Stephens, “The goal in creating the companion Rainwater Management website is to inform British Columbia local governments and practitioners about case studies and the latest advances in the state-of-the-practice.”
